2021 construction has concluded

The City of Spruce Grove is gearing up for another busy construction year that will include many new projects, as well as the completion of multi-phased projects started in previous years. These projects will enhance the City’s roadways, utilities, buildings, parks and facilities.

This site has been created to help keeping the residents and businesses of Spruce Grove informed and aware of any and all impacts these projects may have on day to day life. We know that construction can impact residents and businesses and we thank you for your patience while we complete this work.

  • Temporary Jubilee Park trail closure

    Starting on October 15, 2021 construction of boardwalks will begin in the treed area on the north end of Jubilee Park. All access to the trails within this treed area will be closed to the public from November 1st through to November 26th. Residents are asked to stay away as this will be an active construction area.

  • Main Street closure - July 26-29

    Main Street, between First Avenue and McLeod Avenue, is expected to be closed to traffic from July 26 to July 29. Traffic control and detour signage will be in place. Local traffic will still have access (ex: for deliveries). This closure is part of the Columbus Park redevelopment project.

  • Century Road closure - July 13

    Century Road will closed northbound and southbound at the CN rail crossing on July 13, 2021 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. for repairs and upgrading.

    CN will have electronic signage eastbound and westbound on Highway 16A and northbound and southbound on Century Road starting July 9 advertising this upcoming closure.

  • Temporary closure of Bulk Water Station

    Starting on July 12, 2021, the City of Spruce Grove will be temporarily closing the Bulk Water Station / Truck Fill located on South Avenue. If you are a current user of the station we ask that you find alternative sources of water available through surrounding municipalities or private contractor. This work is expected to take six weeks to complete (weather dependent). Once work is complete, the station will be open and fully operational. The City will post any and all updates.
