Council demonstrates commitment to accessibility and safety with Central Park investment
Spruce Grove City Council reaffirmed its commitment to building an inclusive community by investing additional funding for the Re-imagined Central Park revitalization project. The funds, which were approved during the April 22 Regular Council meeting, will be used to purchase and install additional accessible play features and elements, as well as provide potable water access for water bottle fill stations, enhanced lighting, and security monitoring equipment.
“Removing barriers and enhancing accessibility and safety for our residents is a top priority for this council,” said Mayor Jeff Acker. “We want to ensure that those who want to access our facilities, programs, and recreational spaces feel welcome, safe, and able to participate with their friends and family. These additional enhancements at Central Park will go a long way in making that happen.”
The additional investment in the project was funded from the City’s reserves. Construction is set to begin in early May.
