Phase Two Engagement Survey
Spruce Grove’s population has nearly doubled in the last 15 years and continues to grow at a fast rate. That is a lot of new neighbours, and more continue moving here! How do we want to accommodate new people yet maintain all that makes Spruce Grove great? What should our community look like over time? Can we afford to keep growing in the same way we have been, or do we need to start making changes? How should we move around in our community and make it easier for everyone to get around?
These are a few of the many questions we need to think about when planning for our short-, medium-, and long-term future. You can help provide insight and direction by identifying your preferences in the following surveys. The responses you provide will help inform the new community plan being developed, which is called ‘The Shape of Our Community.’ The process of engaging with the community to understand its values and preferences is what we are calling ‘Shaping Our Community’.
Identifying preferences is important so we can do our best to meet the needs and aspirations specific to our community. The preferences will inform future decision-making, including how we choose to allocate our resources and what projects we should prioritize.
There are key topic areas or ‘drivers’ that impact and shape a community over time, and it’s around these drivers that we need to identify your preferences. The drivers are environment, social, economy, transportation, urban form & placemaking, and governance & partnerships. Identifying your preferences around these drivers is important so we can do our best to meet the needs and aspirations specific to our community. The preferences will inform future decision-making, including how we choose to allocate our resources and what projects we should prioritize.
The survey results will be posted on the project website. Thank you for participating in Shaping Our Community!
